Jordan James is an enrolled member of the Grand Portage Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa, Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. Born and raised in the backwoods of the Lake Superior National Forest and the Grand Portage reservation. From an early age, he grew up listening to his father and friends hold acoustic guitar jam sessions during the long, cold Minnesota winters. With his mother driving him to guitar lessons throughout his early grade school years, Jordan ultimately learned a few chords of his own along the way. Eventually moving to New Mexico at thirteen to attend an Indian boarding school, Jordan has spent his years since college performing as a bassist and drummer for other artists in New Mexico. However, it was the COVID-19 pandemic that brought him to the forefront of the stage to champion his own blend of Indigenous-inspirited, sun-soaked rock 'n' roll.

Paul Milazzo is a New Mexico transplant originally from the 60s era of Brooklyn, New York. Thanks to his parents and older brothers, records were always a staple in his home while growing up, and it fostered an early love for music that endures to this day. Paul was inspired to pick up the guitar thanks to one particular instance where he overheard the guitar break in Elvis' "Jailhouse Rock" and has been hooked on playing the guitar ever since. Today, after a career in the Air Force, Paul calls New Mexico home. He enjoys life as an accomplished full-time musician, playing guitar and writing songs not only for First Floor Highway but also for a variety of New Mexico bands that cover genres ranging from punk to jazz and everything in between.

Joey may have been born in Arizona, but New Mexico has been his home for half of his life. A longtime fixture in the punk scene, he has been cutting his teeth in bands that embody the raw energy and DIY spirit of the genre. While his roots are firmly planted in punk, his bass influences extend far and wide, drawing inspiration from legends such as James Jamerson, Carol Kaye, Robert DeLeo, and the mighty Les Claypool—each shaping his unique approach to rhythm and groove. Like many musicians, life’s responsibilities led him to put his bass down for a time, as work and family took center stage. After the pandemic, Joey picked up his bass again, diving back into the Albuquerque music scene with renewed passion and hasn’t looked back since. When he’s not laying down the low end, you might find him enjoying the local music community, soaking up the eclectic culture of New Mexico, or simply reveling in the joy of making music once again.
